The threat is there, and is every creator’s worst nightmare! Zombies lurking in the mist, ready to tear your and your intellectual property (IP) to shreds. Patent trolls stalking you in your sleep, patiently waiting for the right moment to attack—
Well maybe not zombies, but protecting your intellectual property (IP) can be kinda scary. We want to stop history from repeating itself, which is why we’re making another call out to the entrepreneurial community to share their worst IP horror stories.
Just answer these simple three questions to be featured on our blog:
- What do you know about intellectual property?
- Do you know what it might be worth?
- Do you know how to identify, leverage, and protect it?
So why care? Imagine burning both ends of the candle, night after night. Toiling away on your new precious idea—the one that’s about to make you a millionaire. Not only is the threat of IP infringement a valid concern, you should also be sure you own your assets (and yes, IP is an asset, alebit an intangible one, but still an asset). Traklight CEO Mary Juetten spoke with a large law firm M&A attorney back in March who stated that “one in three clients show up for funding or exit without proper ownership to IP.” That’s a deal killer!
We want to hear from you!
Perhaps you even have a silver lining to share? Submit your intellectual property horror story via email to eely@traklight.com. Submissions must be between 200-500 words.
Are you at risking your intellectual property (maybe that’s a great IP horror story to share)?
