Every month, Shay discusses some of the technical changes to our site in his Traklight Tech Talks blog. Last month he discussed the newest IP Vault enhancements. Today’s update is part 2 on recent IP Vault enhancements. Be sure to stay updated with these updates by subscribing to our blog.
I can’t believe it’s already been a month. Expanding on the last IP Vault enhancement update here are some upcoming changes in our next version soon to be released:
- There is a new interface to add users to your vaults. The email address box is dynamic and shows users who already have access and allows new users to also be added. Multiple users can be added at once provided they have the same access level. Our more advanced vaults provide a similar interface to mix and match the permissions however the owner wishes.
- Along with the addition of user access, there is also a new interface to remove users from a vault.
- The vault contents listing now provides icons that indicate if a file has metadata information associated with it and, for more advanced vaults, what a file’s sensitivity level is set to.
- We have attempted to make the user interface more consistent throughout with icons, placement, and text. Hopefully items that were confusing previously are less so.
Security Update
We recently replaced our network-based firewalls with application-level firewalls. These provide the same function as before plus the ability for us to limit access based on URL patterns, geographic location, and much more. This allows us to deny access based on more complicated rules, as all web servers on the Internet are probed daily for vulnerabilities. We aim to stop these before they ever hit our servers.
That wraps it up for this time. Stay tuned next month for more enhancements!
