Meet Emily, Traklight Online Media Specialist…

EmAndGorillaEmily is a California native, and a newbie to the state of Arizona. She and her husband, Tucker, most recently moved from beautiful Santa Cruz, CA, but before that, lived for two years in Santa Barbara, and for a year in Ventura – two amazingly gorgeous beach communities.

Needless to say, she is still getting used to the dry heat of Arizona (not to mention the fact that the sand out here isn’t accompanied by an expanse of open ocean, pesky seagulls, or touristy beach-go’ers)! 😉

Emily is excited to be a part of the Traklight Trakers team! Here are a few fun facts she wanted to share with you:

What I learned about IP before I started at Traklight?

To be quite honest, I’d never heard of the term IP! But nowadays, I love being able to share my newfound knowledge of this subject with friends and family. It’s so applicable to everyone, and totally fascinating!

Something about me that would be a surprise to learn…

I love to rock climb, and used to be in the 4H Club when I was a kid!

Any deep dark secrets that are past statute of limitations

*laughs* Ya. When I was like…6 or 7, my curiosity got the better of me – I stole a kumquat from the grocery store. What can I say? I loved fruit (still do!), and I’d never had a kumquat. I couldn’t contain my excitement to bite into the small, sweet-smelling fruit, so when my mom was loading groceries into the car, I guiltily pulled it out of my pocket for a quick nibble. And then my mom caught me! She made me go back into the grocery store and apologize to the clerk. I was so humiliated. Needless to say I learned my lesson.

If you were alone in the car by yourself, what song would you sing and why?

I LOVE music! And all types! Off the top of my head, it would either be something like “Rocketman” by Elton John, “Funny The Way It Is” by Dave Matthews Band, or maybe Tim McGraw’s “Something Like That.”  Yes, I have an eclectic taste in music. But I suppose the answer to this question would depend on my mood. My morning drive to work is always tuned to talk radio (AZ’s local 92.3 KTAR). Geeky, I know…but it’s the easiest way to stay tuned-in to what’s going on in the news. Plus, I have a thing for weather reports – I love knowing what to expect (I’m a planner)! Music in the office? Well, the past three songs I JUST listened to on Pandora were (1) “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5, (2) “Buffalo” by Alt-J, and (3) “What Goes Around Comes Around” by Justin Timberlake.
