What I learned about IP before I started at Traklight?
When I was in college, my friend had a great idea and we worked on it for a while until we thought about patenting it. I emailed the ASU law school to see if there were resources to help us with the process. In fact there is! We filed a provisional patent and spent hours being interviewed by the law students and faculty member. It was an extremely long process. In fact the process is still going 4 years later. Other than that experience, my knowledge about IP was slight. I knew about Napster and not to plagiarize in school…
Something about me that would be a surprise to learn…
At age 9 and 11, I was flown to Hershey, Pennsylvania to compete in the National Championship Track and Field Meet. Bought a 10 lbs chocolate bar and got a tour of the chocolate factory.

If you were alone in the car by yourself, what song would you sing and why?
There are many songs that could come up depending on my mood. Let’s start with Simon and Garfunkel’s “The Boxerâ€. I’m a fan of the ‘by the light’ chorus. When I’m feeling rowdy, some Tupac. “Can’t C Me†The passion in his songs moves me. Other than that, I’m a huge NPR fan. 90% of the time I’m in my car, I’ll be listening to NPR. I love how Terry Gross conducts interviews.
